Connie Louise Turner, 65, of Dingess, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 15, 2025, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.
She was born May 10, 1960, at Holden, WV, a daughter of the late Carlos and Delcie Marcum Wilson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Tre Wilson; her parents-in-law, Jess and Margaret Turner; two sisters, Kay (Andy) Baisden and Merle (Dallas) Vance.
For over 15 years, Connie was a familiar and friendly face at Walmart, where she worked as an associate. A steadfast and faithful member of Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church, Connie's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her passion for her faith was evident in the way she engaged with every church activity, inspiring others with her devotion. Connie's interests were as vivid as her personality. She found joy in the art of crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that were both a testament to her skill and a reflection of her patience and attention to detail.
Music and dancing were sources of great entertainment for Connie, and she could often be found expressing her love for both. Trips to Myrtle Beach were among her most cherished getaways. There, she reveled in the sun and the sea, and she never missed an opportunity to attend Legends in Concert, where the music she adored came to life. Connie's love for music also extended to the local scene, where she and her beloved husband, James, were regular attendees at Pickin' in the Park. Her community spirit was exhibited brightly through her years of coaching cheerleading in the local Midget League. Her enthusiasm and support left an indelible mark on all those she coached. Connie will long be remembered for her unwavering faith and joyous spirit.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 42 years, James Turner; her daughter, Brandy Wilson of Marion, OH; her son, Justin Turner of Nitro, WV; her grandchildren, Seth Wilson of Lake, WV, Hali Wilson and Trent (Katie) Wilson all of Columbus, OH; her great-grandchildren, Rossalyn, Ezekiel, Adaline, and Everlyn; three sisters, Ruth (James) Copley and Debbie (Elvis) Baisden all of Dingess, WV, and Linda (Johnny) Brown of Ocala, FL; and one sister-in-law, Jessica (Doug) Hager of Hewett, WV. Additionally, Connie leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins along with her extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 19, 2025, at Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Cornelius Lackey and Rev. James Ed Baisden officiating.
