Clinton Ray Browning Obituary

Clinton Ray Browning, 81, of Neibert, WV, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2025, after a short illness.

Clinton was born on November 6, 1944, in Man, WV, the son of the late Hursie and Shirley (Morris) Browning. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy Sue (Merritt) Browning; and his very special friend, Judy Sansom.

Clinton was a retired car salesman, with his career including Aracoma Motors, Honeycutt Pontiac, L&S Chevrolet, Mike Ferrell Ford, and Thornhill Superstore. Clinton had a laid-back personal sales approach that turned his customers into friends and helped those friends and their families across generations. After over 50 years of service, Clinton retired from Thornhill Superstore and spent his newfound free time with his family and friends, while further exploring his passions of painting, woodworking, and fishing.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted daughter, Karla (Brad) Craddock of Chapmanville, WV; his precious sisters, Judy (Andrew) Foldi of Boone, NC, Janice (Dan) McGraw, of Clayton, DE, and Cathy (Eric) Hein of Aurora, CO; a host of nieces and nephews, and special lifelong friends, Raymond (Freda) Napier of Man, WV, and Barry Hatfield of Logan, WV.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Shining Light United Baptist Church in Chapmanville, WV, with the Rev. Rick Adkins officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens at Chapmanville, WV.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at the Shining Light United Baptist Church.

Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV, is in charge of the arrangements.
