Clifford Troy Bryant Obituary


Clifford Troy Bryant, 72, of Lake, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV, with his loving wife by his side.

He was born on February 14, 1951, to Mary Rose Marcum of Chapmanville, WV, and the late Donald Troy Bryant.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Justin “J.D.” Sphaler; two brothers, Roger Dale Bryant and David Craig Bryant; his paternal grandparents, John and Tollie Bryant; and his maternal grandparents, Thurlo and Mabel McColgan; two nephews, Joshua Bias and Zach Bryant; one brother-in-law and camping buddy, Ned Buckner; one sister-in-law, Charlene Bryant; and his three girls whom he loved so much, Sissy, Moonshine, and Pepper.

Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 21 years, Donna; his children, Gina (Robert) Hendrix, Maria (Matt) Ridenour, and Terri (Tony) Fischer all of Avon Park, FL, Sherri (Ed) Johnson of Wauchula, FL, and Troy (Lucy) Bryant of Cookeville, TN; his mother, Mary Rose Marcum of Chapmanville, WV; his step-children, Tammy (Bobby) Brewer of Lillington, NC, and Timothy Phipps of Logan, WV; three brothers, Ronnie Bryant and Keith Bryant both of Chapmanville, WV, and Donald (Katrina) Bryant of Lake, WV; two sisters, Gaynelle Buckner and Deb (Kerry) Coleman both of Foster, WV; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Cliff proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force to serve his country he loved so much on February 26, 1970, and was discharged on October 25, 1980, with a good conduct medal with one oak leaf cluster. He was also awarded the Air Force Longevity Service ribbon with one oak leaf cluster and the National Defense Service Medal. He also served as Staff Seargeant at the time of his discharge. Cliff was a very instrumental part of the Garrett Fork Reunion project and went out of his way to help others. He was most proud to be a child of God.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Ralph Caudill and Rev. Harley Egnor officiating.

Burial will follow in the Bryant Cemetery at Chapmanville, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
