Mr. Clifford “Snooker” Martin, 77, of Henlawson, WV, was born April 6, 1946, at Henlawson, WV, the son of the late Boss and Mae Martin of Henlawson, WV.
Our precious loved one departed this life on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at home, following an extended illness.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sylverine (Arlis) Dingess and Ocia (Teddy) Nelson; one brother, Chester “Buddy” Martin; his parents-in-law, Robert and Mary Campbell; and one brother-in-law, Donnie Campbell.
Those left to cherish his precious memory are his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Linda Martin; one beloved and devoted daughter, Tracy (Shawn) Wolford; two grandsons, Donny Wolford and Braxton Wolford; one sister, Ida Mae (Lloyd) Belcher; three brothers, Clayton Martin, Roger “Butch” (Annette) Martin, and Harvey “Buster” (Ty) Martin; three sisters-in-law, Betty Jo West, Shirley Quick, and Bonnie McNeely; one brother-in-law, Robert Campbell; and three special nieces, Candy Barrett, Vanessa Estep, and Brenda Tedder. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
He was formerly employed by Pittson Coal and retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways in 2004. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, papaw, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved spending time with his grandsons and family and his many close friends. He enjoyed football and horse racing. He will forever be loved and so sadly missed by all his family and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Pastor Joaquine Ooten and Pastor Roscoe Chafin officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Donny Wolford, Clayton Martin, Butch Martin, Buster Martin, Michael Nelson, Preston Chrislip, and Paul Estep. Honorary pallbearers are Shawn and Braxton Wolford, Glenn Martin, Ronnie Nelson, George Howes, Leonard Codispoti, Joe Codispoti, P.D. Clemens, Rick Abraham, Hobart Adkins, Curly Belcher, Barry Mullins, Bryan Steele, Tim Tomblin, and Ted Tomblin.
