Cleve Richard “Richie” Mullins, 73, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Monday, February 26, 2024, at his residence.
He was born December 10, 1950, at Logan, WV, a son of the late Cleve and Cleo McCloud Mullins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Mac Conley.
A lifelong resident of the community, Richie spent his working years in the coal mines, skillfully operating dozers, and was recognized by everyone as a master mechanic and a true jack of all trades. He was an avid sportsman with a love for the outdoors. Competing his racking horses was not just a hobby but a passion. Hunting, fishing, and boating were also among his favorite hobbies. He was a devoted sports fanatic, a die-hard Bengals fan, and he enjoyed attending ballgames. Richie was also a proud United States Army Veteran.
Richie was a family man. He loved and adored his grandchildren, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was also a member of the Maryetta United Baptist Church. Richie’s legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Mullins; three daughters, Jennifer (Matt) McCallister, Tina (Timmy) Milligan, and Nikki (Kent) Dempsey; one son, Jimmy Ray Conley; his grandchildren, Brayden McCallister, Isaac McCallister, Jaiden Mahon, and Oliver Dempsey; two brothers, Marcus Conley and Keith McCloud; special friends, Danny Maynard, Johnny Hall, Butch Varney, Steven Perry, Donnie Chapman, and Bill Mahon. Additionally, Richie leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Richard McCallister officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dingess Cemetery at Pigeon Roost Road, Chapmanville, WV, where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 6153 and American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts.
Family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen D. “Houn’ Dog” Adkins and Danny Maynard.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
