Cleatus “Jamie” Dillon, 74, of Ottawa, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 22, 2021, leaving from Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.
Born March 1, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert and Edith Ball Dillon.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert “Bob” Dillon.
Jamie, as he was affectionately known, was very devoted to his family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He had worked as a coal miner for 8 years. He was also a member of the U.M.W.A. Jamie was a U.S. Veteran and proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, and gardening with his granddaughter, Sophia. A devout Christian, Jamie attended the Spruce Laurel Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Arbedella Ulbrich Dillon; two daughters, Jamie Lynn (Jeffrey) Dillon and Crystal Haddix; his grandchildren, Sophia Izabella Dillon, Cassandra Kent, Joshua Haddix, and Wyatt; three brothers, Michael (Susie Tompkins) Dillon, Paul Ed (Carol) Dillon, and Victor “Poodle” Dillon; two brothers-in-law, Ernest Ulbrich and Gene Richard (Linda) Ulbrich; two sisters-in-law, Judy Dillon and Anna Singmon. Jamie also leaves behind his nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV.
Burial will follow in the Family Memorial Gardens at Danville, WV, where Military Graveside Rites will be observed. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held on hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
