Claude Mullins, 92, of Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 20, 2022, leaving from Hillcrest Health Center at Danville, WV.
Born June 12, 1930, at Dingess, WV, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary Mullins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis Kinser Mullins; one son, Randy Mullins; and nine siblings, Ireland Mullins, Dixie Adams, Anna Tomblin, Pearl Chapman, Ersie Amburgey, Ira Mullins, Lilly Mae Tackett, Harvey Mullins, and Tennis Mullins, Sr.
Claude was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Chapmanville Church of God. Claude made his living as a coal miner for many years and was a member of the UMWA. He was also a United States Army Veteran. In his spare time, he enjoyed taking care of his yard.
Those left to cherish his memory include his grandchildren, Andrea (Rob) Mullins of Parma, OH, Amanda (Doug) Mullins of Garfield Heights, OH, Brandon Mullins of Crossville, TN, and Candice Mullins of Parma, OH; his great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Dominick, Isaac and Esther Mullins; one great-great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Mullins; one sister, Molly Brown of Lexington, SC; and one special brother-in-law, William “Pete” (Johnnie Lynn) Kinser of Chapmanville, WV. Additionally, Claude leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Bishop Mike Davis officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV, where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by VFW Post 6153, American Legion Post 103 of Chapmanville and DAV Post 39 of Harts. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
