Christopher Allen "Chris" Thompson

Christopher Allen “Chris” Thompson, 52, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Logan, WV, departed this life on Monday, October 11, 2021, from his residence, surrounded by his family.

Born March 30, 1969, at Pontiac, MI, Chris was the son of Gary Allen and Diana Sue Tackett Thompson of Chapmanville, WV.

Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Eugene and Madeline Thompson; his maternal grandparents, Arvil and Theresa Tackett; and two infant children.

Chris made his living at Electric Motor Services at Logan, WV, where he had served as longtime president and CEO. He had a love for sports as he was an avid WVU and Cincinnati Reds fan. A devoted family man, Chris loved spending time with his family and cherished the moments with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his beloved parents, are his loving wife, Heather Stowers Thompson of Myrtle Beach, SC; his wonderful children, Megan (Robert) Diaz of Colorado Springs, CO, Christopher Allen Thompson, Jr., and Alison Thompson (Kolton Eckler) all of Myrtle Beach, SC; his precious grandchildren, Amelia Diaz, Camilla Diaz, and Carter Eckler; one brother, Eric (Charma) Thompson; one nephew, Jacob (Aiden) Thompson; two nieces, Madison Thompson and Paisley Thompson. Additionally, Chris also leaves behind a huge host of friends in WV and SC, along with many others throughout the world as well as a host of extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV, with Edsel Aleshire officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV.
