Christine Wellman Clay, 87, of Dingess, WV formerly of North Lewisburg, Ohio, and Arcadia, FL, departed this life on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at her residence.  She was born December 24, 1936, at Dingess, WV, the daughter of the late James P. and Martha Elkins Wellman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Clay; daughter, Robin D. Clay; sisters, Gladys Deskins, Lillie Mae Stapleton, Bernice Ousley, Martely Mullins, Maxie McClaughlin, and Edna Bell Oliver; brothers, Chester Wellman, Jesse Wellman, James Wellman, Jayce Wellman, Taylor Wellman, and Charles Dean Wellman. She was a 1956 graduate of Lenore High School. A lover of the simple pleasures in life, Christine found delight in the thrill of yard sales and the treasure hunt of thrifting. She found joy in the simple pleasures, such as tending to her flower garden. A devoted family woman, Christine cherished every moment spent in the company of her loved ones. She will be remembered not just for the things she made, but for the warmth and love she wove into every piece.

Those left to cherish her memory include her granddaughter, Jasmine (Tim Buchenroth) McKenzie; great-granddaughters, Madison Wildermuth and Ava Buchenroth all of Marysville, OH; brother, Edward Wellman of Smokehouse of Harts, WV; and a host of family and friends.

Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 23, 2024, at Trace Church of God in Dingess, WV, with Rev. Bobby Carter, officiating. Burial will follow at Wellman Family Cemetery at Dingess Trace Branch Road at Dingess, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Trace Church of God in Dingess, WV.
