Charmion Michael Johnson Obituary

Charmion Michael Johnson, 84, of McConnell, WV, passed away peacefully at the Imogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington on March 14, 2025, after a two-month hospital stay.

She was born on November 11, 1940, in Holden, WV, to the late Howard and Irene Michael.

Charmion was a graduate of Logan High School, class of 1958, and went on to graduate from the Charleston School of Business in 1960. Over the years, she worked as a secretary at the Logan County Board of Education, Pittson Coal, and several other local businesses. She was also the proud owner of PJ's Lounge and Energy Supply until her retirement in 2003.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Charmion had a deep love for sports, particularly football and basketball, and in later years, she became an avid fan of the WNBA. When not watching games, she spent her time working on jigsaw puzzles, playing solitaire, and completing crossword puzzles.

Charmion took great pride in her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Johnson; sister, Linda Dingess; brother-in-law, Richard Johnson; niece, Cheryl Dingess; and nephews, Mike and Steve Dingess. She is survived by her three sons, Scott and Angie Johnson, Rick and Samantha Johnson, and Tim and Melissa Johnson; her grandchildren, Zack Johnson, Craig Johnson, Corey Johnson, and Savannah Johnson; her two step-grandchildren, Baylee and Shayna White; and two great-grandsons, Reece and Grant White. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Barbara Wood, and nieces Robin Ackermann and Holly Johnson.

Charmion was known for living life on her own terms. She enjoyed visits from family and friends as long as they didn't overstay their visit, and this will be something everyone will laugh about for years. She was also quite stubborn, which only made her even more lovable and memorable to those who knew her well. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones, who will forever cherish her memory.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to St. Mary's Medical Center for the exceptional care she received during her hospitalization and to Dr. Jon Miller and his staff for their compassionate care over the years, always paired with humor and laughter.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
