Charles Houston Conley

Charles Houston Conley, 68, of Chapmanville, WV, received his heavenly wings on Friday, January 13, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

Charles was born May 10, 1954, to the late Charlie and Dorothy Slone Conley of Caney, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Conley, Emmett Conley, and June Conley; two sisters, Mary Meadows and Peggy Adkins; and one grandson, Kagen Spencer.

Charles loved spending time with his family and friends. He was retired from driving a school bus after 25 years of service. He worked at Gino’s for 50 years where he was still employed. Charles was well-known for his cooking, and his chicken and dumplings were a famous topic and will continue to be for years to come.

Those left to cherish his memory include one brother, Otto (Faye) Conley; three sisters, Hilda (Bob) Belcher, Evelene Adkins, and Sheila (David) Dingess; one daughter, Kristi Summers; one granddaughter, Mariah Collins, and one grandson, Cofton Summers. Additionally, Charles also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Bishop Mike Davis officiating.

Burial will follow in the Charlie Conley Cemetery at Caney Branch, Chapmanville, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
