Catherine "Cat" Walker Obituary

Catherine “Cat” Walker, 69, of Bruno, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 26, 2024, leaving from St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington, WV.

She was born October 11, 1954, at West Hamlin, WV, a daughter of the late Wilde “Bill” and Lillian Browning Fugate and Stergil and Mary Altizer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary Fugate, Rev. Ronald McCoy, and Billy Joe McCoy; one daughter-in-law, Tonya Walker; two brothers-in-law, Dale Dillon and Noble Partch; her parents-in-law, Ralph and Nevada Walker; and one grandson, Brandon Walls.

Cat's life was a testament to the love she had for her family. She was very devoted to her family, especially her granddaughter Braelyn, who was the light of her life. Cat was a devout Christian and a faithful member of the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church for many years. In her spare time, she found joy in connecting with friends and family through playing games on Facebook, especially Farmville. Cat’s legacy of love, faith, and joy will live on through those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, James “PK” Walker; one son, Donald (Allison) Walker of Savannah, GA; one daughter, Sharon “Susie” (Tom) Mulcahy of Bruno, WV; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Anna, Tyler, Reagan, Johnathan (Kendra), Jason “Ryan,” Dean, Jace, Braelyn, Morgan "Bubba" and Kylen Shepherd, Shawn (Heather) Walls and their children, Tiffany (Chris) Browning and their children, Jarod (Jessica) Walls and their children, Deidra Walls and Keeley Short, Christian Walls, and Jessica Walls and her children; four sisters, Carol Dillon of TN, Mary (Phil) Adkins and Jean (Gary) Collins both of Harts, WV, and Tina Fugate McCann of Hawthorne, FL; two special aunts, Essie (Raymond) Watts and Bessie (Delbert) Watts both of Harts, WV; one special sister-in-law, Shirley Toler; two special nieces, Vickie (Todd) Neal and Gwen Cline; special friends, Chassie Blankenship, April Church, Roger Walls, Kelly Harrison, and Sabrina Rose. Additionally, Cat leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
