Carla Sue Hall, 68, of Man, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 3, 2024, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.
She was born May 25, 1955, at Man, WV, a daughter of the late Ralph D. and Mary Crosby Ellis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Albert and Lorentha Ellis; her maternal grandparents, Fred and Jane Crosby; two brothers, Clarence Edward “Eddie” Ellis and Jerry Lee Ellis; and her twin sister, Marla Lou Workman.
Known for her warm smile and generous spirit, Carla was a beloved figure in her community. In her earlier years, she worked at JR’s Pizza and Gino’s Pizza in Man. She found joy in the little things, such as long conversations on the phone, where she would catch up with friends and family, sharing stories and laughter that could be heard echoing through the halls of her home. She also enjoyed watching television, where she would indulge in the antics of Reba, reminisce with The Golden Girls, or challenge herself with the puzzles on the Game Show Network.
As a devout Christian, Carla's faith was the cornerstone of her existence. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the Greenville Freewill Baptist Church. Carla was the heart of her family, a source of unconditional love and support. Her kind and caring heart extended beyond the walls of her home, and she was known for her willingness to help others. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Rev. Johnny Hall; two sons, Chris (Shelby) Hall of Charleston, WV, and Ryan (Sarah) Hall of Man, WV; two grandsons, Joshua and Harley Jaye; two brothers, Donald (Carol) Ellis of Creston, OH, and Paul (Brenda) Ellis of Kissimmee, FL; four sisters, Ruth Ann Brown, Tammy (Jerry) Simpson, and Dorothy “Tootsie” Porter all of Man, WV, and Joann (Phillip) Grimmett of Verner, WV; three brothers-in-law, David (Sabrina) Hall of Man, WV, Ronald (Denise) Hall of Kistler, WV, and Jamie (Mallorie) Hall of Mallory, WV; two sisters-in-law, Diana (Donald) Davis of Davin, WV, and Susie Hall of Mallory, WV. Additionally, Carla leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with her church family and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Greenville Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Baxter Toler officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at the church and one hour prior to services Thursday.
