Bruce “BJ” Baisden, Jr., 42, of Dingess, WV, left this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, after having fought a long battle with COPD and COVID-19.
He was born March 6, 1979, at Logan, WV, the son of Bruce Baisden, Sr., and Cheryl Nelson Henson.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lawrence “Pokie” and Gloria Sue Nelson and Cecil Stone; and his paternal grandparents, Landon and Fannie Baisden.
During his life, BJ worked in the coal industry as a “top notch” welder, in which he was extremely proud. He also worked at various other jobs. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his brother, Jeff, who was loyal and devoted to him. An avid outdoorsman, BJ enjoyed root digging and 4-wheeling. He was a loyal friend to those who knew him, and he lived life his way and according to his terms.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Bruce (Sue) Baisden, Sr., of Chapmanville, WV, and Cheryl (Steve) Henson of New Market, TN; his children, Trace Terry Baisden of Chapmanville, WV, Rian Lynn Baisden of Harts, WV, and Cayde Bevino of Whitman, WV; five brothers, Jeffrey Lewis Baisden of Dingess, WV, Joey Wyatt of Morristown, TN, Thomas Baisden of Duncan Fork, WV, Justin Baisden of Henlawson, WV, and Tyler (Michaela) Henson; six sisters, Candita (Jeremy) Crabtree of Dingess, WV, Miranda Campbell of Ocala, FL, Ashley (Noah) Marcum of Harts, WV, Amber (Mike) Williamson of Charlotte, NC, Kara Wyatt of Charleston, WV, and Kayla (Raul) Henson; his step-parents, Joseph Wyatt of Hanover, WV, and Pat Setser of Dingess, WV; his special caregivers, Jennifer Copley, Brad Dillon, and Acie Newsome. Additionally, BJ leaves behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, along with a host of extended family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, BJ’s family requests that you hug your children, tell them you love them, and take them to church.
