Brenda Kay (Elkins) Tackett, 63, of Hewett, WV passed away with her daughter by her side on Friday, July 28 after a sudden illness.
Brenda was born on January 16, 1960 in Madison WV to Carter and Geraldine Elkins.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine (Stone) Elkins; father, Carter Elkins; siblings Eudell “Dale” Elkins, Carter “Jake” Elkins, and Jeanie Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy Ray Tackett; daughter, Brenda Gail Asbury (Arlie); granddaughters, Madilyn Grace, Sadie Elizabeth, and Heidi Lauryn Asbury; sister, Tammy Kimbler and a host of family and friends.
Brenda enjoyed planting flowers, listening to music, and supporting her granddaughters in all their activities.
The family will honor her wishes to be cremated. There will be a private gathering to celebrate her life at a later date.
Brenda’s family would like to thank the ER and surgical staff at CAMC General Hospital. They would also like to thank her caregiver, Mary Hudson, who provided excellent daily care for her.
