Brady Edward Fillinger, 73, of Harts, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 12, 2021, leaving from CAMC Memorial Hospital Hospice Care in Charleston, WV.
He was born April 26, 1948, at Logan, WV, the son of the late Felix and Virgie Workman Fillinger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian Ott Fillinger; one son, Brady Len Fillinger; four brothers, Arnold Fillinger, Wetzel Fillinger, Rex Allen Fillinger, and William Arthur Fillinger; two sisters, Dorothy Spry and Eva Dalton; his paternal grandparents, John and Rosy Fillinger; and his maternal grandparents, Shade and Ethel Workman.
Brady was a retired coal miner. He was a devout Christian and a member of the Guyan Freewill Baptist Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Brady was extremely devoted to his family.
Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his passing are his wife, Jo Ann Fillinger; one daughter, Candace (David) Morgan of South Charleston, WV; two sons, Rhine Fillinger of Dingess, WV, and Ray (Dee Dee) Fillinger of Summersville, WV; two step-sons, Joseph (Dianna) Queen of Moundsville, WV, and Jeremy (Sarah) Queen of Tampa, FL; his grandsons, Austin Fillinger, Alex Fillinger, Andy (Alix) Fillinger, Thomas (Blake) Fillinger, David Morgan, Matthew Morgan, and Joshua (Kaylee) Morgan; one granddaughter, Sheena Fillinger; his step-granddaughters, Whitney Queen, Elizabeth Queen, Kari Marcum, and Sydney Marcum; one step-grandson, Winston Marcum; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Hassel (Connie) Fillinger of Wilsondale, WV; two sisters, Gladys (Herman) Schmitt of Dingess, WV, and Velma Marcum of Davin, WV; two sisters-in-law, Lois Barker and Cherylene (Joel) Workman all of Harts, WV; and his mother-in-law, Von “Granny” Tomblin of Harts, WV. Additionally, Brady also leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel at Chapmanville, WV, with Rev. Eric “Tubby” Rakes and Rev. Jimmy Darrell Newsome officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Andy Fillinger, Thomas Fillinger, David Morgan, Joshua Morgan, Matthew Morgan, Austin Fillinger, and Alex Fillinger.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
