Bobby Joe Smith

Bobby Joe Smith, 79, of Williamson, WV, passed away on June 17, 2021.

Born March 6, 1942, at Nolan, WV, Bobby was the son of the late Zan and Alva Vinson Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Castle and Ida Mae Hicks; two brothers, Daniel Boone Smith and James Garland Chafins; and one son, Bobby Aaron Boone Smith.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Dianna Smith; sons, Bobby Joe “B.J.” (Nikki) Smith, Zan Troy Smith (Aaron Taylor); one daughter, Denda (Randy) Marti; his grandchildren, Bobby Preston, Samual Dean, and Karlee Jo Smith, Sheena Woodward; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Beard, Cru Woodward; and one special friend, Richard Mullins. Additionally, Bobby also leaves behind a slew of nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Bobby was a member of the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28. He retired from the Mingo County Department of Highways. An avid outdoorsman, Bobby loved hunting, fishing, and camping.

There will be a visitation with family and friends at 12:00 p.m. with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Nolan Church of God Acts 20:28.

To honor his wishes, Bobby’s remains will be cremated.
