Bill Waybright Obituary

Bill Waybright, 83, of Kistler, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 16, 2026, leaving from Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV, surrounded by family.

He was born December 22, 1942, in Monaville, WV, a son of the late Darl and Mamie Taylor Waybright.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lois Rollins; and one brother, James Waybright.

Bill retired from Island Creek Coal Company after 34 years of service. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his grandson, Ryan. He had a deep-rooted love for bluegrass music, which was evident to everyone who knew him. A man of simple pleasures, Bill could often be found at Parkway with his buddies, especially during breakfast hours. These gatherings were not just about the meals but the shared laughter and stories that enriched their days and strengthened their bonds. Faith played a central role in Bill's life as he was a devout Christian and attended both the Man Church of the Nazarene and the Logan Church of the Nazarene. Bill will long be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family and his kindness to all.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darlene Waybright; two sons, Clint (Christi) Waybright of Mount Vernon, OH, and Michael (Cristy) Waybright of Knoxville, TN; one daughter, Lori (Timothy) Stacy of Man, WV; his grandchildren, Monica Justice, Ryan (Ashlee) Stacy, Benjamin Waybright, and Joshua Waybright; one great-granddaughter who was the light of his life, Blaire Justice; three sisters, Naomi Ruth Browning of Charleston, WV, Janet (Bob) Barnes of Jacksonville, FL, and Kathy Young of Baltimore, OH. Additionally, Bill leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and countless friends.

To honor Bill’s wishes, his remains will be cremated, and there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Evans Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Chapmanville, WV.
