Betty E. Butcher, 90, of Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2024, leaving from Thomas Memorial Hospital at South Charleston, WV. She was born September 26, 1934, at Logan, WV, a daughter of the late Grover and Tilda Conley.

Betty’s kitchen was a haven of warmth and delicious aromas, where she poured her heart into cooking and baking for those she loved. Her hands, equally skilled in the art of gardening, brought forth an abundance of life and beauty from the earth. An avid ginsenger, Betty found solace and joy in nature. She was a devout follower of the Pentecostal faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Osie Butcher; one grandson, Todd Wells; one son-in-law, Terry Collins; two brothers; and four sisters.

Those left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Patti (Brad) Belcher, Wilma Collins, and Sharon Putman; her grandchildren, Selena Wells, Shannon Wells, Derrick (Amanda) Wells, Gabe (Deidra) Collins, Tommy Putman, Timmy Putman, and Toby Putman; her great-grandchildren, Corey Wells, Christopher Wells, Jyrece Barham, Rylee Pritchard, Ty Wells, Piper Wells, and Zaylee Wells; four great-great-grandchildren, Elliott Cash Wells, Sage Wells, Kylan Barham, and Ella Wells; one sister, Fonnie Ruth Sellards; and a special friend who was like a son, Keith Conley. Additionally, Betty leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Grover Conley Cemetery at Smokehouse of Harts, WV with Pastor Jerry Mann officiating.
