Bethel Allen Butcher, 80, of Shively, WV, passed away Sunday, April 25, 2021, at his home surrounded by his wife, two daughters, granddaughter, and special friend, Trudy Baisden.
Born September 13, 1940, at Shively, WV, he was the son of the late Robert and Doskie Butcher.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by six sisters and four brothers.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda (Belcher) Butcher; two daughters, Beth Baisden of Vale, NC, and Becky Butcher of Hickory, NC; one granddaughter, Sara Elizabeth Baisden of Vale, NC; a very special nephew and niece, Bobby Dale and Justine Akers; a special sister-in-law, Sue Butcher; and a special friend, Thomas Dillon. Additionally, Bethel also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with a host of extended family and friends.
Bethel loved gardening, NASCAR, and bluegrass gospel music. He was a member of Crawley Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a service at 6:00 p.m. at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Mann and Rev. Alfred Setzer officiating.
In honor of Bethel’s wishes, his remains will be cremated following the services.
Burial will be held at a later date at the Bryant Butcher Cemetery at Shively, WV.
