Bess Adams

Bess Adams, 71, of Harts, WV, departed this life on Saturday, March 13, 2021, from Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, KY.

Born September 7, 1949, at Logan WV, she was the daughter of the late Randall and Ann Dingess Adams.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Garland “Dick” Adams; one daughter, Crystal Mullins; three grandsons: Hunter Mullins, Caleb Adams, and Christopher Adams; her parents-in-law, Lewis and Gladys Adams; three brothers: Roland, Randy, and Demie Adams; three sisters: Bea Dingess, Alice Adams, and her twin, Tess Adams; and one very dear friend, Dr. Ralph Stanley.

Mom enjoyed canning, quilting, and cooking for her family and friends, especially her grandkids. She also enjoyed attending bluegrass festivals to see Dr. Ralph Stanley and Ralph Stanley, II.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Christina (Steve) Mounts, Ruth Stollings, and Kay (Jerry) Stollings; one son, Lewis Adams; 7 grandchildren: Cassandra Stollings (Nic Gromofsky), Little Ricky Stollings, Amber (Nick) Mitchem, Hannah Adams, Maddy, Morgan, and Walker Adams; 11 great-grandchildren: Axel, Diesel, Austin, Eli, and Rosaleigh Hineman, Hayden and Alley Mitchem, Wyatt, Ryleigh, and Whitleigh Stollings, and Bryar Adams; two sisters: Sissy Dingess and Wilma Carter; three sisters-in-law: Lois Adams, Jewell Adams, and Sally Williams; her family at Mountaineer Missionary Baptist Church and Tom Scott, Billy Baisden, Ronald Mullins, Paula Duffield, and Tammy Walkins. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of extended family and many special friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the Garland & Bess Adams Cemetery at Harts, WV, with Justin Baisden officiating. Following the service, she will be lovingly laid to rest beside her husband.

Pallbearers will be: Jerry Stollings, Little Ricky Stollings, Tom Scott Adams, Nic Gromofsky, Nick Mitchem, and Steve Mounts.
