Beatrice Faye Crum, 74, of Lyburn, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, WV.

She was born December 9, 1948, at Earling, WV, a daughter of the late Shirley and Mary Faine Merritt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estill Lee Crum; and two siters, Dorothy Huddleston and Josephine Burgess.

Beatrice was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was very devoted to her family. She was also a very devoted Christian and attended Taplin Freewill Baptist Church. Beatrice enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will long be remembered for her kindness to others.

Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Rhonda Sue Pelfrey of Angola, IN; one granddaughter, Julia (Shawn) Skeard of Lyburn, WV; one grandson, Brandon Pelfrey of Lyburn, WV; two great-grandchildren, Eden Lee Skeard and Shaleann Skeard; three brothers, William (Betty) Merritt of Barboursville, WV, Daniel (Frances) Merritt of Lyburn, WV, and Roger Merritt of Taplin, WV; two sisters, Myrtle Scaggs and Nancy (David) Bourne both of Lyburn, WV; and one special niece who helped care for her, Jennifer Scaggs. Additionally, Beatrice leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 31, 2023, at Taplin Freewill Baptist Church at Taplin, WV, with Rev. Lacy Cox and Rev. Sheldon Wells officiating.

To honor Beatrice’s wishes, her remains will be cremated.
