Barry Max Henry, 68, of North Mitchell Heights, WV, and Cebu, Philippines died on September 4, 2025, at his home in Cebu. He was Born July 27, 1957, in Logan, WV, the beloved son of Lyle and Mary Jane (Pug) Henry.
Max was a 1975 graduate of Logan High School. After graduation, he followed his big brother's career path and joined the military as a police officer. He then joined his brother as a West Virginia State Trooper for 20 years. After retiring, he worked as a contractor for various government agencies and was stationed overseas for 8 years. After he came home, he worked various security jobs in WV.
Max was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many. He had the biggest heart and always put others first. He loved adventures. You may have seen him running or riding his bicycle to Charleston. He had a love for making others laugh and he was a natural at anything he did. He loved his family more than anything and they were his greatest blessings.
Max is preceded in death by his precious grandmother, Pearl Sizemore, parents, Lyle and Mary Jane (Pug) Henry, brother, Larry Henry, sister and brother-in-law, Ramona and Lee Hall, nephew, Robbie Hall, and niece, Jennifer Tizzano.
He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Sheida Henry, children, Lyle-19, Larry-15, Pia-18, and Belle-10 of Cebu City and Tyler Henry of Logan, WV. Mother and father-in-law Gildo and Editha Salazar of Cebu City. Sister, Marsha (John) Newman of Chapmanville, WV, sister-in-law, Janet Henry (Mike Young) of Williamstown, WV, along with a host of nieces, nephews and a long list of friends.
Those who knew Max will remember his generous, loving, fearless, adventure-seeking, larger than life spirit.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Evans Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV.
