Barbara Gail Brown

Barbara Gail Brown, 71, of Madison, WV, born June 24, 1952, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023, after a short illness.

Barbara was a hard-working, independent, and loving mother to not only her biological children but also her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She devoted her life to taking care of her family and anyone who was in need, which ultimately resulted in her being the glue that kept everyone together and the rock to keep everyone strong.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Betty Cook; one son, Randy Wayne Brown; and two brothers, Charles Cook and Roger “White Owl” Cook.

Barbara is survived by her companion and the love of her life, Edmond Hunt; two sisters, Debbie Cook and Sharon (Jeff) Mobley; her children, Greg (Angelica) McCormick, Amanda Miller, and Dustin (Sabrina) Brown; grandchildren, Savannah Brown, Kaden and Gavin Miller, Kylee Braylen, and Hayden Brown, and Kevin, Melvin, and Megan Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Beckett Cooper and soon-to-be twin girls; nieces and nephews, Lindsey (Timmy) Woody, Jeremy (Samantha) Hartshorn, Mindy Tomblin, Kelly Green, and Gregory (Chelsea) Cook; great-nieces and great-nephews, Coen and Cooper Woody, Kayla Dent, Jeffrey and Justin Waston, and Xavier Cook. She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
