Barbara Ann Gillenwater, 85, of Peach Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, leaving from Logan Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 17, 1935, at Lincoln County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Clerk and Marjorie Mullins Lucas.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by on son, Randy Gillenwater and one daughter, Beverly Ann Gillenwater.
Barbara made her living as a homemaker. She enjoyed the outdoors and working on her farm. A devout Christian, she was baptized at Stone Branch Church of Christ, loved going to church and reading her Bible. Barbara was a bit of a perfectionist and an excellent cook. Devoted to those she loved, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Herman Gillenwater; one son, Gary (Brenda) Gillenwater; one daughter, Nancy (David) Mullins; four grandchildren, Alex (Samantha) Gillenwater, Joshua Gillenwater, Christopher (Jessica) Mullins, and Sarah (Logan) Mullins; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Jordan) Workman, Cruz Gillenwater, and Isabel Gillenwater; and three great-great-grandchildren, Vanessa Workman, Braylon Workman, and Casey Workman. Additionally, Barbara also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2021, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Chapmanville, WV.
Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
