Armilda Gail Blevins, 87, of Henlawson, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2022, leaving from her residence surrounded by her family.
Born January 11, 1935, at Logan, WV, she was the daughter of the late Doc and Ebble Katherine White.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tilford Blevins; one son, Ronnie (Vickie) Blevins; one grandson, James “Jimbo” Morris; and two brothers, Joseph Ray White and Jerry White.
Mrs. Blevins was a devout Christian and a member of the Church of Christ of Henlawson. She loved going to church and serving the Lord. A loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Armilda was very devoted to her family and loved them all. She was also known as the mother of the neighborhood where she enjoyed cooking for everyone, and she always made sure the kids of the neighborhood never left her home hungry. In her spare time, she also enjoyed traveling and shopping.
Those left to cherish her memory are three children, Greta Maynard, Kathy (Gene) Trent, and Michael (Nancy) Blevins all of Henlawson, WV; 11 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lonnie (Linda) White of Beckley, WV, and Sidney “Shorty” White of Pecks Mill, WV; one sister-in-law, Carol Blevins of Godby, WV. Additionally, Armilda leaves behind many nieces and nephews along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dale Ramey officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV.
