Amanda Rae Burgess, 39, of Charleston, WV, passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.

She was born June 17, 1986, at Logan, WV, a daughter of Lisa McCloud Burgess of Charleston, and the late Raymond Burgess, Jr.

In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, O’Dell McCloud and Becky McCloud Ely; and her paternal grandparents, Raymond and Mildred Burgess.

Amanda found joy in the simple pleasures of life, cherishing every moment spent with her family. As an avid softball and volleyball mom, she never missed a game, cheering the loudest and beaming with pride, no matter the outcome. Her enthusiasm for her daughter's activities was unmatched, and she became a beloved figure on the sidelines. Her love for her beloved canine companion, Ollie, was another beautiful aspect of her life. Their bond was a sight to behold, and the hours she spent playing and caring for Ollie brought her immense happiness. Amanda's spirit, her kindness, and her love will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory, in addition to her mother, are her daughter, Lauren Brooke Adkins; her longtime companion, Tommy Adkins; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
