Alice Gore Adams, 86, of Chapmanville, WV, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2023, surrounded by loved ones in her lifelong home.
She was born on December 5, 1936, at Holden, WV, to the late Elmer and Cora Gore. She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Lyle Adams; sons, Johnny Keith and Eric Wayne; sisters, Zola Fields, Thelma Strickland, Nancy Harless; brothers, Jim Bob, Clint, Willie, and Olson Gore.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Bruce (Teena) Adams of Chillicothe, Ohio; granddaughter, Erica (Nick) Keck of Madison, WV; and a host of relatives, church family, friends, and the many children blessed to be taught by her through the years.
Alice dedicated her life to her passion of educating young minds. She taught in the Logan County School system for numerous years and loved and inspired countless students. Her life’s mission was to nurture her students with compassion and instill in them the love of education she so fiercely held herself.
Alice committed her life to Christ and fervently worked to share the love of God with those around her. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She attended The Church of Christ in Chapmanville for several years with her husband, Lyle; and most recently attended Danville Church of Christ faithfully. Alice cherished her faith and relationship with Christ and lived her life as a faithful servant.
Services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home at Chapmanville, WV, with Reverend Arnold Adams officiating.
Friends and loved ones may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, WV. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
